What was the Motivation for electric conversion you may wonder? Alistair Group recognizes the pressing need to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable practices within the transportation sector. Of course, electric vehicles are currently far from practical for most of our long-haul fleet – due to range limitations, but for vehicles that are used inside a base/port or performing short trips, there is potential!
The conversion process is much more than just taking the vehicle’s engine and replacing it with an electric motor, there is a process that takes place.
- Vehicle Selection: Alistair Group carefully selected a suitable vehicle. We chose a small (and old!) workshop run-around vehicle that is usually tasked with collecting spare parts from suppliers in town, and therefore only travels short distances.
